Your family.
Your space.
Here’s what’s protected, what’s shared, and what’s still being set up.
The front door can be visible. The family pages aren’t.
The website address, login page, and this explanation may be visible to anyone on the internet when the site is published. The family homepage requires a signed-in, approved account. There is no public account signup. Chris and Kristen approve each person’s exact Google email and choose their private boards. Invitation messages can be copied or opened in an email draft; the website does not send them automatically. Forwarding a message or link does not grant another account access.
Your photos have their own permissions.
The Family Photos button opens our separately hosted Immich server. Chris and Kristen can include an Immich photo account when inviting someone. Each person gets their own private library and only the albums explicitly shared with them. An invitation never opens another person’s whole library. Some Google accounts may need a review before photo setup is complete. In Immich, each person controls their library and the albums they share. Editors can contribute to shared albums. Pausing homepage access stops access to the homepage and boards; any separate Immich photo access must be managed in Immich.
Shared links are a separate kind of invitation.
An Immich shared link can allow people without an account to view an album or upload photos, depending on its settings. Treat those links like invitations: only pass them to people you mean to include. Members can also download photos or take screenshots.
Passwords and connections.
This site stores password hashes rather than readable passwords. HTTPS encrypts the connection when you use our secure domain. Use a unique password and sign out on shared devices. Google sign-in verifies your identity without giving this site your Google password. We receive your name, verified email, and Google account identifier, not access to Gmail, Drive, or Google Photos. Only approved accounts can enter. Enable a passkey or two-step verification on your Google account; using Google sign-in alone does not prove those protections are enabled.
Family boards and the calendar.
The Everyone board is visible to every approved site member. Private family boards and their posts are visible only to assigned members and site administrators. Chris and Kristen can manage memberships and moderate all boards. Members can write updates and replies on the boards they can see, and edit their own updates. Removed updates and replies are retained for recovery. You can restore something you removed yourself; only administrators can restore content removed by an administrator. People can still copy or screenshot anything they can view. Calendar details are not connected yet and will only be displayed after its owner grants the appropriate access.
Who to ask.
Chris manages the server. Contact Chris or Kristen for account access, help with a shared album, or a request to remove family content. Site administrators can manage accounts and stored site data. Photo backups have been configured on separate local storage; they are not a guarantee against every kind of loss. The family homepage database is backed up separately to the same Tank storage each night, retaining the latest seven daily copies. The backup includes board posts, replies, memberships, and site accounts. Removed posts and replies are retained for recovery, including in backups; ask an administrator about a permanent removal request.
